Shahrukh rejected the offer

When the makers offered the lead role i.e. Raj Malhotra in the film Dil Wale Dulhania Le Jayenge to Shah Rukh Khan, he had first refused. Shah Rukh said that in this film, he had to play the role of a college Going young boy, while Shah Rukh was 30 years old at that time. The film, released in 1995, was also offered by the makers to Saif Ali Khan, but he also turned down the offer.

Earned 102 crores made in 40 lakhs

At that time it cost 40 lakhs to make this film made under the direction of Aditya Chopra. While the film earned Rs 102 crore. Out of this, there was a collection of 89 crores in India and a collection of 13.5 crores was overshadowed. According to reports, the makers wanted to sign Tom Cruise for this film, but it could not be possible due to the budget.
