At the age of 52, Garu has surprised everyone by swimming 150 km from Visakhapatnam to Kakinada. During this time he had to face many challenges. However, he faced every challenge well. Team of experts took care of security
It took six days for Shyamala Garu to achieve this feat. He started swimming in the sea from Visakhapatnam on 28 December.
Their safety was also taken full care of during this sea voyage. A team of more than a dozen experts, including doctors and scuba divers, monitored his safety.
Shyamala has also swum the Pak Strait
Shyamala lives in Samaralkota village of Kakinada district and this is not the first time that she has achieved such a big achievement. Before this, she had also swum in the 30 km long Palk Strait that divides India and Sri Lanka. He achieved this feat in 2021.
