A strong increase in UPI transaction, 13.5% rose to a record of Rs 24.77 lakh crore in March

The number of Unified Payment Interface (Unified Payment Interface) recorded a 13.59 percent increase in March on a monthly basis, and it increased from 16.11 billion in February to 18.3 billion this year. This has been revealed in the data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Tuesday.

The price of UPI Transaction in March was Rs 24.77 lakh crore, which is 12.79 percent more than Rs 21.96 lakh crore in February.

25% increase in UPI transaction value in March on an annual basis

According to NPCI data, the average price of UPI transactions on a daily basis was more than Rs 79,910 crore and the number was more than Rs 59 crore, which shows an increase of 1.9 percent and 2.6 percent respectively. On the basis of Salana, in March, the UPI transaction price increased by 25 percent and a 36 percent increase in number, which shows the speed of digital payments of the country.

Difficulty in processing transaction through UPI

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Digital Payments (Digital Payments) users faced trouble in processing transaction through UPI. The NPCI has explained the reason for this problem for the conclusion of FY 2024-25.

NPCI said in a statement, “Due to the conclusion of the financial year, some banks have to face trouble with transactions. The UPI system is working properly and we are working with the respective banks to fix this problem.”

A big change in UPI payment rules from 1 April

The NPCI has recently issued new guidelines with the aim of increasing the customer experience for payments related to UPI number on Numeric UPI ID Solution. The new guidelines have become effective from Tuesday 1 April. Following these new guidelines will be necessary for UPI Member Bank, UPI Apps and Third Party Provider.

UPI ID related to inactive mobile number will not pay payment

According to the new guidelines, UPI ID associated with inactive mobile numbers will also be inactive. If a UPI user’s registered mobile number in the bank has been inactive for a long time, then the UPI ID of the user will also be unlink and the user will not be able to use UPI service.
