Adani Ports included among world’s top 10 transportation and infra companies by S&P Global

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) on Wednesday said the company has been included among the top 10 global transportation and transportation infrastructure companies in the ‘S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA)-2024’. The Adani Group company said in a statement that the score of APSEZ has improved by 3 points to 68 compared to last year. APSEZ is at 97th percentile in the sector, which is better than 96th percentile in 2023.

Ashwini Gupta, ex-time director and CEO of APSEZ, said that we believe in pursuing responsible business practices, which will foster innovation and drive long-term success. This new recognition only reflects our commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Gupta said that our team’s dedication to integrating sustainability into all our operations has been critical to this achievement. We are committed to our goal of net zero by 2040.

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani reacted to the achievement of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited. He wrote in a post on X- “There is no greater expression of business success than the ability of a company to serve its customers. Every moment, this is the guiding principle to which I urge all members of Adani Airports to dedicate their time.”

APSEZ is the country’s largest private port operator.

APSEZ is the largest private port operator in the country. This is the second consecutive year that APSEZ has achieved the top position on the environment scale.

APSEZ also achieved the highest scores on several parameters across social, governance and economic scales including transparency and reporting, supply chain management, information security/cyber security, system availability and customer relations.

Adani Ports, a part of the Adani Group, has evolved from a port company to an integrated transport utility, providing end-to-end solutions from its port gate to customers’ doorstep.

The total cargo volume of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) increased by 8 percent year-on-year to 38.4 million metric tons (MMT) in December 2024. Last month, the company’s container volume increased by 22 percent and liquid and gas volume increased by 7 percent on an annual basis.
