Additional Director General (ADG) of BSF Eastern Command, Ravi Gandhi on Monday started a two -day visit to the violence affected areas and international border areas of Malda and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal. He met the violence victims present there and assured them of all possible security and cooperation.
On the first day of the tour, ADG Gandhi along with other senior officials including IG Karni Singh Shekhawat of South Bengal Frontier visited the affected villages of Samserganj and Soti police station area. He talked to the local people and heard their problems and took stock of the situation closely. During this, he expressed sympathy with the victims and said that BSF is fully committed to your safety.
ADG Gandhi also met West Bengal DGP and other senior police officers. During this time there was a detailed discussion on peace restoration and mutual coordination. He assured that the BSF along with the administration and the police will completely curb the violence and the normal situation will be restored as soon as possible.
Appreciating the role of BSF soldiers, he said that even in difficult circumstances, the soldiers have worked with courage and vigilance and maintained the trust of the public. He boosts the morale of the soldiers and said that due to their readiness, the situation is largely under control.
Ravi Gandhi also inspected the border areas adjacent to Bangladesh and took stock of the security system. He instructed the officials to take full vigil and vigilance, so that no anti -social elements could take advantage of this sensitive time. Speaking to the media, the ADG reiterated that the safety of citizens is the highest priority and BSF is committed to restoration of peace at every level.
