Amit Gupta, a resident of Vadodara, who has been working for 10 years in Doha, the capital of the Middle East country, was taken into custody by the police there on January 1. Since then, he is in jail there. His family is pleading with the Indian Embassy in Qatar to the PMO and local MP in New Delhi for his release. Amit’s mother Pushpa Gupta arrived on Saturday to ask for help to MP Hemang Joshi’s house. The MP promised him to provide all possible help.
Amit Gupta’s family has not yet been told why his son was arrested, nor has any concrete reason have come to light.
Parents went to Qatar, kept trying for a month, did not meet
According to his mother Pushpa Gupta, he did not know anything at first where Amit is, when he did not get his phone for two days, then the family came to know about this. After this, his parents turned to Qatar and tried to meet the son for a month, but only once, that too for half an hour, he got an opportunity to meet Amit.
Amit was a country manager, why arrested, I do not know
Pushpa Gupta said, “My son was kept without eating anything for 48 hours and after that he was locked in a room. He is still closed there.” According to him, information has been received that someone in his company made a mess and since Amit was the Country Manager, he was arrested. However, all this remains a mystery for them.
Vadodara MP assured help
In this difficult time, Vadodara MP Dr. Hemang Joshi has assured to help the family in difficult times. The MP said, “Vadodara’s citizen Amit Gupta was working in Doha in Tech Mahindra for the last 10 years. He was going out to eat food. The security agency there took him into custody. After this, his parents went to Qatar. He stayed there for a month. He also tried to meet him. Due to which he has not started detaining them. We will also take help from those who are ambassadors.
