
An FIR has been lodged against actor Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda and three others regarding a scene from the film ‘Jat’. According to the police, the complaint alleged that a scene of the film has hurt religious sentiments of the Christian community.
After the complaint, the filmmakers apologized and said that the scene has been removed from the film. Police said that this complaint has been lodged by a leader of Christian community, named Vikal Gold. The complaint alleges that the film ‘Jat’ released on 10 April has scenes that insult Jesus Christ and Christian religious practices.
The complaint also questioned why the film was released around Good Friday (18 April). The filmmakers issued a statement saying, “A sharp response was given to a special scene of the film. This scene has been removed from the film with immediate effect. ‘
The statement said, “Our aim was not to hurt anyone’s religious sentiments.” We are deeply sorry for this and we have taken quick steps to remove this scene from the film. We apologize to all the people whose faith has been hurt. ”
In -charge (SHO) of Jalandhar Cantt police station, Sanjeev Kumar said that actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda and Vineet Kumar, director Gopichand and producer Naveen have been named in the case. The SHO said, “The FIR has been lodged under Section 299 of the Code of Justice of India (BNS).”
