
Bajinder Singh of Punjab: On Tuesday, the Punjab Police has registered a case against Swayambhu Christian preacher Bajinder Singh on the basis of a woman’s complaint and a case in other charges. A few days ago a video went viral on social media, in which the woman was seen slapping and arguing by the Swayambhu Christian preacher. The Mohali police has started investigating the case registered after a 35 -year -old woman complained to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) office. She appeared before the police in Mullanpur on Tuesday and recorded her statement.
According to the police, on February 28, a case was registered against Singh (42) on charges of sexual harassment on the basis of a 22 -year -old woman’s complaint in a separate case.
National Women’s Commission reached
The woman, who was allegedly a victim of sexual harassment by Bajinder Singh, appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Tuesday. The woman had alleged in her complaint that Bajinder Singh used to send her a message and used to sit alone in a room of the church every Sunday and during this time he touched her wrongly. The police have registered a case against the pastor under Section 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (chase) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
NCW officials said on Tuesday that the woman (victim) appeared before the Commission for the case. NCW President Vijaya Rahatkar had said on March 7 that the Commission has demanded quick action from the Punjab Police in this matter. He had said, “The case related to a pastor of Punjab is very serious and worrying. The way the woman was sexually assaulted is very worrying. We have taken cognizance of this incident and have asked the Punjab Police what action they will take in this regard.
