Apple ‘Preparation to start production of airpods for export in India


Promoting ‘Make in India’ initiative, ‘Apple’ is going to start local production of airpods for exports in the country. This is the second product of the company after the iPhone, which has been successful due to the Production-Link Promotion (PLI) scheme. According to industry sources, Apple Airports are currently being produced for the purpose of export. This product of Apple comes without active noise cancellation feature. The production of Apple Airports is going to start at the Foxconn plant in Hyderabad by April. However, no official statement has been received from the company regarding the local production of Apple Airports.

According to the latest research of counterpoints, India’s TWS market shipment has increased by 14 percent on an annual basis in 2024. The increase in shipment was due to seasonal sales events, affordable offers and expansion for different applications, as well as a large scale channel availability.

Meanwhile, under the government’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, Apple touched the highest iPhone export figures of Rs 1 lakh crore from India for 10 months (April-January) of the current financial year. According to industry data, in the month of January, iPhone exports reached around Rs 19,000 crore, which is the highest ever.

The total iPhone exports from the country increased by more than 30 percent in this financial year as compared to Rs 76,000 crore in the same period of the last financial year. APO Tim Cook recently said, “India is a huge market for Apple and we have achieved a record in the December quarter, where the iPhone was the most sold model in the country for October-December-December-December-December-December.”

Apple recently announced a new lineup of airpods models and features. The new Airpods 4 is the most advanced and comfortable headphones formed by the company, whose design is open-ear.
