On Tuesday, 25 March, the UK’s large pharmaceutical company GSK informed that the US has approved a new antibiotic for the treatment of infection in the urin track. This problem affects over 100 million people worldwide, mainly women.
The company said that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of a product called Blujepa to treat infections of so-called urin tracks in 12 years and above girls as well as girls.
Wood said other antibiotics exist to treat these infections, but this new drug “will bring another option for patients with a growing rate of frequent infections and existing treatments.”
It is worth noting that due to repeated use of antibiotics, such bacteria have come which are becoming more and more resistant. Now it becomes difficult to fix the infection caused by them.
A study published in 2019 concluded that 92 percent of the bacteria that cause infection of urine track are resistant to at least one antibiotic and 80 percent are resistant to less than two. That is, they do not work on one or two antibiotics.
