Army’s DGMO reviews the security situation in Manipur, discussion on strengthening the defense infrastructure


New Delhi:
Army Director General Military Operation Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai inspected the security and infrastructure running on the border. General Ghai visited Manipur on 24 and 25 February 2025. The main objective of this visit was to understand the security situation of the Indo-Myanmar border and take stock of the ongoing border infrastructure development works in the state.

During his visit, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai met Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, State Security Advisor, Chief Secretary and Director General of Police. He took stock of the situation along with the security preparations of the Indian Army. Reviewed the current security situation in the state and the situation in sensitive areas.

During meetings with top officials, the entire government approach was emphasized, where there was a detailed discussion on the theme of strengthening the border management and security infrastructure. Especially, the collective efforts being taken to restore peace and stability in the state were also discussed.

The tour proved to be an important step towards further strengthening cooperation between the state administration and the army. This visit of Lieutenant General Ghai also shows the commitment between the state government and the army to prioritize the safety and welfare of the people of Manipur.
