Sheldon jackson has announced his retirement from professional cricket: Saurashtra batsman Sheldon Jackson has said goodbye to his team’s professional cricket career lasting about 15 years after the defeat to Gujarat in his team’s Ranji Trophy quarter -finals on Tuesday (11 February 2025). The 38 -year -old batsman played 105 first class matches in his career. In which he scored more than 7200 runs. Here he scored 21 centuries and 39 half -centuries. His highest score was 186 runs.

Jackson ended his career with an average of over 45, which reveals the continuity of his performance in first class cricket. He was a reliable batsman as well as a skilled fielder. He also did wicketkeeping in limited overs cricket from Saurashtra. He scored 14 and 27 runs in his final match against Gujarat.

Jackson started her first class career in 2011 on behalf of Saurashtra. With his brilliant performance, Saurashtra made it to the finals of this tournament for the first time in the 2012-13 Ranji session. On the basis of his brilliant performance in domestic cricket, Jackson was selected in the India A team for the West Indies tour. He also played an important role in Saurashtra becoming Ranji Champion in 2015-16.

Jackson said goodbye to limited overs cricket last month. He scored 2792 runs in 84 innings in List A.
