Bangkok’s 33 -storey building collapse to China due to earthquake, understand the whole matter


The Chinese company is being named in the investigation of the collapse of a 33 -storey tall building in Bangkok, Thailand during a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Central Myanmar on Friday. This incomplete building built by this Chinese company collapsed in a few seconds. Even now dozens of people are trapped under the rubble. The death of 17 people has been confirmed by Sunday, 32 people are injured and 83 people are still missing.

Most of the dead are laborers working at the construction site of the collapsed building. Search and rescue teams continue to work in scorching heat to find out the survivors. Thermal imaging drones have detected at least 15 people, who can still be alive. So far, eight bodies have been removed from the debris.

Building of China suffered losses

There are many such tall buildings under construction in Bangkok, but no one had to face such destruction due to the earthquake. Experts and officials are now questioning the quality of the collapsed building. The building was under construction for three years at an alleged cost of over two billion Baht (45 million pounds).

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister ordered an inquiry

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charanavirakul has ordered an immediate inquiry into the matter, and has given seven days time to determine the reason for the collapse of the expert panel. According to a UK Telegraph report, SAO Building was a joint venture between Italian-Thi Development PLC (ITD) and China Railway No. 10 (Thailand) Limited. The latter company China Railway No. 10 is a subsidiary of the engineering group company, which has a 49 percent stake – which is the maximum foreign ownership permitted under the Thai law.
