New Delhi :
Tourism means summer holidays across the country. Thousands of people throng the tourism and pilgrimage of the country in this season. However, many times people also have to face fraud during online booking. Such fraud is carried out through paid advertisements on search engines like fake websites, misleading social media pages, Facebook posts and search engines like Google. In view of this, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center under the Union Home Ministry has warned the common people about online booking. Let us know how you can avoid such fraud and what you should do if you fall prey to such an event.
This is how fraud occurs during online booking
Along with this, the Cyber Crime Coordination Center of India has told how pilgrims and tourists are cheated.
- Helicopter booking for Kedarnath, Char Dham
- Guest house and hotel booking for pilgrims
- Online cab/taxi service booking
- Holiday package and religious trips
… and then it is announced to be cheated
People pay without any doubt through these portals. However, they feel cheated when there is no confirmation or service of booking and the numbers given for contact are out of reach.

People have been advised to take precautions. By adopting some such easy remedies, you can avoid online fraud:
- Always check for the authenticity of the website before making any payment.
