Bhuvnesh Kumar has taken over as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This information was given in an official statement on Wednesday. Kumar will also remain Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
He has replaced Amit Aggarwal who has been appointed as the new Medicine Secretary. “Bhuvnesh Kumar took over as the Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India on Wednesday,” an official statement said.
Kumar is a 1995 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. “A graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra and a gold medalist, Kumar has held several important positions both at the Center and in his cadre state,” the statement said.
Earlier, he also served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. In Uttar Pradesh, he served as Principal Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries. He has also been Secretary Finance, Secretary MSME, Secretary Technical Education and Divisional Commissioner of Land Revenue Department in the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
