Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Pravesh Verma has filed a defamation case of Rs 100 crore against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Verma accused both the leaders of making false allegations against him.

Verma said that if he wins the case, he will use the money for development work in his New Delhi constituency, from where he is contesting against Kejriwal in the assembly elections to be held on February 5. On Kejriwal’s allegation that Verma had called Punjabis a threat to the country, the BJP leader said, “I don’t need to tell you what I and my family have done for the Sikh community.”

Verma alleged that in recent days thousands of cars from Punjab, carrying AAP ministers, MLAs and even their chief minister Mann, have entered Delhi to campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party. Verma said, “I have no problem with their campaign but they are distributing CCTV cameras, liquor and money of Chinese companies to woo voters.”

Punjabis have shaped Delhi.” Criticizing Verma’s statement, Kejriwal said, “By calling Punjabis a threat to the country, BJP has insulted lakhs of Punjabis living in Delhi. Very sad to hear this. BJP should apologize to Punjabis.
