New Delhi:
Two BJP MPs Dinesh Sharma and Krishna Pal Gurjar updated their official residence in Lutyens Delhi. Both have written “Vivekananda Marg” in place of Tughlaq Lane on the nameplate outside their bungalow. On this, the rhetoric in political circles has intensified. The Congress described it as another attempt to incite a “communal division”, while the BJP has rejected the charge. BJP spokesperson Rohan Gupta said that in the last 26 years, the capital has suffered a lot due to the “misrule” of the concerned parties, but now it will not happen.
He told IANS, “The new BJP government will not only restore the lost pride of the capital, but will also maintain the rich Sanatan traditions and customs, which will ensure that ‘development and heritage’ move together.”
Accused of promoting hate and polarization
Congress MP from Saharanpur, Imran Masood targeted the Center for “changing” the Tughlaq Lane in Lutyens Delhi and accused him of promoting hatred and polarization in the country.
He attacked the center sharply, saying, “The stock market is in a hurry, the property worth millions has been looted. Youths are wandering from rate to rate, but the government does not care. The government only wants to increase enmity between Hindus and Muslims.”
Symbol of road stupidity in the name of Tughlaq: Krishnam
Asked in this regard, former Congress leader Pramod Krishnam said, “Mohammed bin Tughlaq is recognized as the most intelligent fool in history. Earlier no other ruler was given such a status. The road named after Mohammed bin Tughlaq is a symbol of stupidity.”
He said, “Rahul Gandhi can be understood to be there. No other educated and intelligent person would like to live there.”
It is noteworthy that the dispute started when BJP MPs Dinesh Sharma and Krishna Pal Gurjar changed the address on the nameplate outside their official residences located in Tughlaq Lane, New Delhi. On his nameplate, “Swami Vivekananda Marg” and “Tughlaq Lane” are written in the bracket below.
