BPSC exam will not be cancelled… Commission issued statement amid students’ agitation

Patna:

A large number of candidates are sitting on strike demanding cancellation of the 70th integrated combined (preliminary) competitive examination of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). At the same time, politics is also heated regarding this. Meanwhile, BPSC has made it clear that there is no basis before the Commission for conducting re-examination at all the centers of the state.

BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh said on Saturday that the Commission is a constitutional body, whose objective is to conduct transparent examinations in the interest of the candidates. The Commission does not take decisions regarding re-examination of any center or not on the basis of unfounded, baseless, misleading, allegations and sloganeering.

He also clarified, “The Commission takes the decision to cancel the examination or conduct re-examination or not on the basis of the report and other evidence received through the concerned District Officer regarding the examination of any center.”

He further said, “As far as the re-examination of the 70th Combined (P.) Competitive Examination integrated in the entire state is concerned, till now no report has been made available before the Commission by any district officer nor from other sources. Has any evidence or proof been obtained, on the basis of which a decision to conduct re-examination can be taken.”

He said that on the basis of the report received from District Magistrate Patna regarding the only examination centre, Bapu Examination Complex, Patna and the video clips and other evidences circulated on other social media, the Commission has decided to conduct re-examination of this center on January 4.

He clearly said that keeping in mind the interests of the candidates appearing at other 911 centers of the state, there is no basis before the Commission to conduct re-examination at all other centres.

The Controller of Examinations has also said that the Commission has taken its decision very carefully and keeping in mind the interests of the young candidates of the state. In such a situation, he has also appealed to the candidates not to get misled by misleading news.

It is noteworthy that a large number of BPSC candidates are sitting on strike in Patna demanding cancellation of examination in all the centres.
