
Rahul Gandhi has reached the Supreme Court regarding the objectionable remarks made on RSS founder Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Rahul Gandhi has challenged the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court order, refusing to cancel the summons against Gandhi in the case of derogatory remarks against Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. The bench of Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice Manmohan will hear the case on Friday.
Rahul gave a statement to Savarkar during India’s journey
This defamation case stems from the comments made by Gandhi at a rally in Akola district of Maharashtra on November 17, 2022 during the ‘Bharat Jigo Yatra’. The Lucknow bench of the High Court on April 4 said that the Gandhi Sessions could file a revision petition before the court, which makes the High Court intervention at this stage unnecessary.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Gandhi challenged the proceedings against him and challenged the decision of the subordinate court to summon him in the case. Advocate Nripendra Pandey lodged a complaint during the rally, accusing Gandhi of deliberately insulting Savarkar.
Rahul got a shock from the High Court on 4 April
It is known that on April 4, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was shocked by the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court. The High Court refused to cancel the summons order against Rahul Gandhi. The Lucknow bench of the High Court refused to give relief to Rahul Gandhi in the Savarkar defamation case pending in the court.
Rahul Gandhi also challenged the order of the Sessions Court in the petition in which the revision petition filed against the dismissal of his complaint by complainant Nripendra Pandey in June 2023.
While hearing the case, a bench of Justice Subhash Vidyarthi verbally commented that Rahul Gandhi had the option to go before the Sessions Judge under Section 397 CRPC (Section 438BNSS). In view of this, the court canceled his petition.

The lower court had issued summons to Rahul Gandhi, considering the case under IPC 153 (A) and 505 against Rahul Gandhi.
