New Delhi:
Big question on Bumrah: The Indian team is yet to be announced for the Champions Trophy 2025, but before that the news of Jasprit Bumrah has shocked millions of fans. The news coming from sources is very disturbing that Jasprit Bumrah may be out of active cricket for the next six months. Meaning, if this happens, then obviously the Champions Trophy 2025 may be in trouble. In such a situation, discussions and questions have already started that if Bumrah is out, then who are the bowlers who can take his place.
Let us tell you that BCCI will announce the Indian “temporary team” for the Champions Trophy on 18-19. And changes can also be made in this team till 13th February. Pakistan had used the same strategy in the 2023 World Cup. However, let us introduce you to those three pacers who can replace Bumrah if he is out of the mega event.
3. Famous Krishna
Recently, this Lambu pacer showed that it was a big mistake of the management not to play him earlier by taking six wickets in both the innings of the Sydney Test against Australia. However, this performance definitely made him an alternative to Bumrah. And in this matter Prasidh took the lead over Mukesh Kumar and Akash Deep. Prasidh, who has taken 29 wickets in 17 ODIs so far, has shown that he has the ability to take wickets on big and necessary occasions. Prasidh’s natural bounce can prove to be very effective on the pitches of Dubai.
2. Avesh Khan
The other contender to replace Bumrah is Avesh Khan. Avesh was a member of the T20 team in the South Africa tour last year. As far as ODI is concerned, Avesh has been able to take only 9 wickets in 8 matches so far. He has shown that he can bear the pressure of big matches. However, in South Africa, he took only four wickets in three matches. This was the reason why he could not make it to the T20 team against England, but with the possible situation of Bumrah, he has become an option.
3. Harshit Rana
Harshit Rana may have gone into hiding after showing a glimpse in Australia, but when it comes to white-ball cricket, he is included in head coach Gautam Gambhir’s distance planning. His selection in the T20 team clearly says this. And if there is a need for an alternative to Bumrah, then Gambhir may once again give preference to Rana, who is also a good batsman in the lower order. Rana, who plays List A (ODI, domestic ODI and Under-23) for Delhi, has taken 22 wickets in 14 List A matches.
