Shikhar dhawan named as official Event Ambassador Champions Trophy 2025: Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan is one of the four players who were appointed competition messengers on Wednesday (12 February 2025) for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan and Dubai from 19 February to 9 March. Apart from Dhawan, other players who have been appointed competition messengers by the International Cricket Council (ICC) include Pakistan’s captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, former Australian all -rounder Shane Watson and New Zealand fast bowler Tim Saudi.
These four players will write columns about this tournament during the competition and will also be present in matches. The world’s best eight teams will participate in the Champions Trophy. Dhawan said in a release issued by the ICC, ‘Being a part of the Champions Trophy is a special feeling and enjoying the upcoming tournament as messengers is a great honor. This is a special competition of its kind, which has many memories of mine.
Dhawan participated in the Champions Trophy twice and on both occasions he won the Golden Bat (the award for the most run -scorer in the tournament). He is the only player in the world to achieve this feat.
This opener has scored the most 701 runs in the Champions Trophy for India. He was elected the best player of the tournament in the Champions Trophy played in 2013.
