
A tunnel collapsed on Saturday morning in Nagarkurnul district of Telangana. It is being told that at the time when the part of the tunnel collapsed, many laborers were working inside it. The construction of this tunnel started a few days ago. According to the information received so far, three laborers have been taken out from inside the tunnel. CM Revanth Reddy has expressed grief over the accident in the SLBC tunnel. At present, relief and rescue work is going on at the scene.
It is being told that the employees went inside to repair the water leakage. Meanwhile, a part of this tunnel collapsed and due to this, 30 laborers are feared to be stranded.
Regarding this incident, CM Reddy said that the officials were immediately alerted after receiving information about the tunnel collapsing and getting stuck. I have ordered the officials of District Collector, SP, Fire Department, Hydro and Irrigation Department to reach the spot immediately and take relief measures.
He further said that after getting information about the accident, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar and other officials of his department have left for the accident site by special helicopter. Union Coal Minister Kishan Reddy has also taken information about the cause of the tunnel accident and asked the officials to evacuate the people trapped.
Let us tell you that this tunnel is located in Amarabad on the under construction section of Srisailam Vam Coast Canal (SLBC) in Nagarkurnul district. An official said that a part of the SLBC tunnel behind the Srisailam dam near Domalpenta collapsed on Saturday. In particular, at the point of 14th kilometer, the roof of the tunnel on the left collapsed to three meters. This happened when the employees were doing their work on the site.
