Congress Party’s new address is 9-A Kotla Road, Sonia Gandhi inaugurated ‘Indira Bhawan’

Congress Party chief Sonia Gandhi inaugurated the party’s new headquarters Indira Bhawan on Wednesday. For the last five decades, the party’s headquarters was ’24 Akbar Road’. Now the new headquarters of the main opposition party has been built at ‘9A Kotla Marg’. Sonia Gandhi inaugurated the new building by cutting the ribbon. During this, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was also present with him.

Earlier, the flag was hoisted in the courtyard of the Congress headquarters and the leaders sang the national song, national anthem and ‘Vijayi Vishwa Tiranga Pyara..’. Former Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was also present in the inauguration program of the party.

Many senior leaders including Priyanka Gandhi, KC Venugopal were present.

On this occasion, Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress Working Committee (CWC) members, permanent and special invitees, Congress Parliamentary Party officials, many party officials, Central Election Committee members, State Congress Committee were present. Senior leaders including Chiefs of Congress, legislative party leaders of various states, MPs, former Chief Ministers of several states and former Union Ministers were present.

Indira Bhawan has been designed keeping in mind the needs of the party and leaders.

The work on this new headquarters of Congress was going on for the last several years. The foundation stone of this office was laid in 2009.

But it took 15 years to build it. It is being told that due to lack of resources its construction has been delayed. The address of this new building of the headquarters of the Congress Party is 9A Kotla Marg, but the land allotted to it is on the same Deendayal Marg where the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party is, but the party has made its main entrance on Kotla Marg so that the office The address remains the same.

Congress headquarters was at 24 Akbar Road for the last 47 years.

Indira Gandhi shifted the party headquarters to 24 Akbar Road in January 1978 and since then it has been the headquarters of the party. For almost 47 years, the party office has been running from 24 Akbar Road, now it is being shifted to the new headquarters. The new office of the Congress Party is 6 storeyed and has been built in corporate style and has all the modern facilities. In this, along with the main office of the Congress Party, the offices of all the frontal organizations Mahila Congress, Youth Congress and NSUI will also be shifted to the campus, which are currently running from different places.
