Controversy over Harvard University increased further, Trump threatened to impose tax as a ‘political institution’

New Delhi:
After Harvard refuses to accept the policy changes of the White House, US President Donald Trump has threatened the university to exclude his tax exemption. He said that the tax exemption of Harvard should be abolished and tax should be paid on it as a political unit. He has also banned the $ 2.2 billion funds to the university.

Trump said that if the college does not agree with their demands that the college changes its way of operation, which includes the selection of students and the rights for the professors, then it should be taxed.

The US President said in a post on Truth Social that the tax exemption status is completely dependent on working in public interest. The White House said that the purpose of changes was to eliminate the anti -Jewish spirit at the university campus.

In a letter to the students and teachers here, Harvard President Alan Garber vowed not to listen to the government and said that the college would not talk about its freedom or its constitutional rights.

The list of changes with Harvard University reached the Harvard University on 3 April. The Trump administration said in its letter to the US 140 -year -old institute Harvard University that the university should change its governance, hiring methods and admission processes. In this, the officers were ordered to close the diversity offices and cooperate with the immigration officers for screening of international students.

The statement said, “Harvard’s statement firmly shows the mindset of worrying entitlement spread in our country’s prestigious universities and colleges- he thinks that he will get Federal Investment (money from the government) but there will be no responsibility to maintain civil rights laws.”

It further stated, “The obstruction in reading inside the campus in recent years is unacceptable. Now the time has come that these prestigious universities take this problem seriously and if they want to continue to get the support of taxpayers, then they are committed to meaningful changes.”
