Delhi Assembly Elections: Ajit Pawar’s NCP releases first list of 11 candidates

New Delhi:

Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Saturday released its first list of 11 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. NCP has declared its candidates from Burari, Badli, Mangolpuri, Chandni Chowk, Ballimaran, Chhatarpur, Sangam Vihar, Okhla, Laxmi Nagar, Seemapuri and Gokul Puri.

NCP has fielded Mulayam Singh from Badli against Delhi Congress chief Devendra Yadav. Whereas, Khalid ur Rehman from Chandni Chowk, Ratan Tyagi from Burari, Mohammad Harun from Ballimaran and Narendra Tanwar from Chhatarpur have been fielded.

Whereas, the party has fielded Imran Saifi from Okhla, Khemchand from Mangolpuri, Namaha from Laxmi Nagar, Rajesh Lohia from Seemapuri, Jagdish Bhagat from Gokulpuri and Qamar Ahmed from Sangam Vihar.

NCP leader Praful Patel had earlier said that the party has already contested elections in Delhi and will contest this time too. He had also revealed that the Pawar faction had discussed contesting the elections in alliance with the BJP. But, with NCP announcing its list, it has become clear that the party has decided to contest the Delhi elections independently.

Let us tell you that the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi has declared the names of candidates for all 70 assembly seats, while Congress has so far announced the names of 47 candidates in its two lists. Congress will soon declare the names of candidates for the remaining seats also. However, Bharatiya Janata Party has not yet declared its candidates.

According to media reports, assembly elections are expected to be held in Delhi in February 2025. Various political parties have started making strategies to win the elections. Apart from this, leaders of different parties are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters.
