Delhi Police has arrested 6 persons for voter registration through fake documents. Some of the arrested accused were involved in making fake documents. According to the police, a CPU was being used by the accused to create fake documents. Two separate cases have been registered in this matter in Shaheen Bagh police station. Police have started investigating the case and the arrested accused are being interrogated.
On December 25, Election Registration Officer (ERO) of Okhla Assembly Constituency Vinod Kumar had lodged a complaint in Shaheen Bagh. In the complaint, he had said that four people had applied to change the address in the Voter ID card using forged documents. After this, on December 29, another complaint was received from Vinod Kumar, ERO, Okhla Legislative Assembly that 4 applications for new voter registration have been received in the voter registration office using fake documents. Then 2 cases were registered in Shaheen Bagh police station of Delhi.
Delhi Police has arrested 6 people for voter registration through fake documents. The arrested accused include 32-year-old Mohammad Naeem (Shaheen Bagh), 30-year-old Rizwan Ul Haq (Jamia Nagar), 37-year-old Sabana Khatoon (Shaheen Bagh), 27-year-old Rajat Srivastava (Faridabad), 51-year-old V. Trilok Chand (Chirag Delhi) and Sachin Kumar (Malviya Nagar, Delhi) is included.
According to the police, technology and forged documents were used to manipulate the electoral registration process. Naeem (32), a resident of Shaheen Bagh, has applied to change the address in his Voter ID using a fake electricity bill. He is an electrician by profession. Rizwan Ul Haq (30) – Rizwan, owner of a cyber café in Shaheen Bagh, forged the electricity bill for Mohammad. Naeem is using photoshop. Sabana Khatoon (37) – A housewife living in Shaheen Bagh, Sabana, applied for change of address using a fake electricity bill.
Rajat Srivastava (27) – A cyber café operator in Jasola, Rajat used an online PDF editing tool to create electricity bills of several people. He has been found involved in both the cases registered in Shaheen Bagh police station. Sachin Kumar (27) – Working in housekeeping in a hospital in Delhi. Sachin contacted Trilok Chand to prepare documents for his deaf and mute uncle Kisuni. His alleged motive was to transfer the land in his uncle’s name.
Trilok Chand (51) – A private teacher in Malviya Nagar, Trilok allegedly collaborated with Rajat Srivastava to create fake documents and allegedly knew Kisuni for 4-5 years.
