Demonstration of Muslim Personal Law Board against Waqf Bill, know which leaders are taking part


The All India Muslim Personal Law Board is performing against the Waqf Amendment Bill. Representatives of many religious-social organizations and leaders of civil society are also becoming part of the protest. Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav have reached Gurdnibagh dharna site in Patna to join the Waqf Bill. After joining the protest, Tejashwi Yadav said that brotherhood is being finished, democracy is ending. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Sunday announced a nationwide agitation against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, in which it was planned to hold a large scale in front of the state assemblies in Patna and Vijayawada on 26 and 29 March respectively under the first phase.

Leader of Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar Legislative Assembly said, “Our party RJD, our leader Lalu Prasad Yadav has come here to support you, we have all come to strengthen your hands. Whether at any cost, whether there is power or no, we have opposed this non -constitutional, undemocratic bill in the House, Assembly and Legislative Council. Standing with you … our endeavor is not to pass this bill at any cost … “

Joint Committee of Parliament presented report on Waqf

The Joint Committee of Parliament has submitted its report on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. However, it has not been listed yet, but speculation that the proposed law can be introduced to pass in Parliament during the current budget session. The 31 -member committee on the bill suggested several amendments in the proposed law after several meetings and hearing, while opposition members disagreed with the report. The report of about 655 pages was submitted to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on 30 January.

The Joint Committee accepted the reports suggested by the ruling BJP members by 15–11 majority. The opposition called this exercise an attempt to destroy Waqf boards. On August 8 last year, the bill was sent to the Joint Committee after Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju was introduced in the Lok Sabha.
