Strict security arrangements have been made for Ram Navami in West Bengal. In the 10 most sensitive districts of the state, the police administration has increased special surveillance, where 29 IPS officers of IG and DIG rank are monitoring the situation. The police have completed their preparations to conduct the rallies to be held on the occasion of Ramnavami in a peaceful manner.

According to police sources, 65 rallies are going to be held in Kolkata this time. About 14 thousand policemen have been deployed to protect these rallies. To maintain peace across the state, the holidays of all policemen have been canceled till 9 April. Apart from this, the work of removing possible threats like brick-stone from rally routes has also been completed. The police say that they are completely ready to prevent any untoward incident.

During Ram Navami in West Bengal, a situation of tension has been observed for the last few years. Especially since 2017, incidents of violence and unrest have come to light during this festival in many areas of the state. In the last three years, the influence of politics has increased on this festival, due to which the number of rallies has also increased a huge increase. This time, to keep the situation under control, the police have resorted to modern equipment like drone, CCTV cameras and bodycam. A close watch is also being done on social media so that rumors can be prevented from spreading.

Apart from Kolkata, strong security arrangements have also been made in areas like Howrah City, Barrackpore, Chandannagar, Malda, Islampur, Asansol-Durgapur, Siliguri, Howrah Rural, Murshidabad and Cooch Behar. A team of senior police officers has been deployed in these areas, including six police commissioners and four district police areas. In all these areas, there have been reports of unrest during Ram Navami for the last few years. This time the police have decided that law and order will not be allowed to dissolve at any cost.

Ramnavami rallies will start from 10 am and will run throughout the day. The police have arranged for special monitoring on rally routes. CCTV cameras have been installed on the roads along with aerial monitoring from the drone. Apart from this, policemen also have bodycams, so that every activity can be recorded. Police say that these measures will not only ensure security, but quick action can be taken after any incident.
