Mumbai:
Sanjay Shirsat, a minister and Shiv Sena leader in the Maharashtra government, has claimed that Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Jayant Patil will leave the party of Sharad Pawar and join the NCP led by Ajit Pawar.
Shirsat said on Thursday, “I have said this before. Jayant Patil is not in the mood to live in NCP (SP) for a long time. There will be a stir in Sharad Pawar’s party. You will see Jayant Patil joining Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party.”
Shirsat’s party, NCP and BJP are the components of the ruling Mahayuti alliance in the state.
Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Vadettywar said that Patil is the head of the state unit of NCP (SP) and it is clear that he is upset these days.
The Shiv Sena (Ubatha), led by Congress, NCP (SP) and Uddhav Thackeray, is the constituent of the opposition coalition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
