ED filed chargesheet, money laundering against Director of Prisha Perls Private Limited

The Enforcement Directorate Hyderabad team has filed a charge sheet against Prisha Perls (India) Private Limited, its director Nilesh Kumar Aggarwal and Silesh Kumar Aggarwal, Ghanshyamdas Jewelers, Agravanshi Agro Farms LLP and Gajanand Aggarwal under the provisions of money laundering. The court took cognizance of this complaint on 1 March 2025.

The ED launched the investigation on the basis of an FIR lodged by CBI, ACB, Hyderabad, alleging criminal conspiracy against Prisha Perls Private Limited against Humun Nagar Sub-Dakghar officials and other unidentified persons.

After this, the CBI filed a charge sheet before the Hon’ble Special Judge (CBI case), Hyderabad. According to the FIR and the charge sheet, the accused misused the post -7.66 crore rupees to the postal department by booking more items under Value Peable Letter (VPL) / Value Pable Post (VPP).

The Department of Posts had implemented the ‘Remotley Managed Frank System’ and prescribed standard operational procedures (SOPs) for the use of franking machines. These machines used to print frank impression slips with specific sequential number, so that the correct number of posts booked could be detected.

Prisha Pearls Private Limited bought two such franking machines. The postal department used to provide barcode to those who sent wholesale mail, which was used for tracking VPL/VPP articles. The Department of Posts found that Prisha Pearls Private Limited made fake frank frank impression slippers and booked parcels without paying actual postal fee.

The ED investigation revealed that the company and its directors showed the actual turnover less and sent a large number of parcels using colored photocopted frank impressions slips during that period. Through this crime, Prisha Pearls Private Limited caused a loss of Rs 7.66 crore to the Department of Posts. Income from crime was taken out in cash and deposited in individual bank accounts of directors and their family members to hide the source of money.

This money was rotated through many banking transactions and spent in family businesses of the accused. The ED had earlier attached bank balance worth Rs 4.36 crore to the directors and concerned institutions of Prisha Pearls Private Limited.
