Sanjay Bangar Angry Over Chennai Super Kings: Chennai Super Kings (CSK )’s performance in IPL 2025 has been disappointing, and recently the defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR) has further highlighted their weaknesses. After this defeat, cricket experts have questioned CSK’s strategy and the selection of players. Chennai’s defeat against Rajasthan is the 10th defeat of this season. After this defeat, Chennai is standing on the verge of being the lowest position in the points table for the first time in IPL history.

After Chennai’s defeat, former cricketers Akash Chopra and Sanjay Bangar gave their opinion on the future of CSK at ESPNCICINFO Time Out Show. Akash Chopra suggested that CSK should release many big players. His list includes names like Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda and Rahul Tripathi. Chopra said that in place of Jadeja, Dewald Bravis should bat at number 4. He also said that the current top order of CSK, including Devon Conway, Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel, is not a permanent solution.

Chopra suggested that the team needs an aggressive top-order batsman and a finisher who can create a strong batting line-up with Brevis. Apart from this, it was advisable to maintain bowlers like Noor Ahmed and Mathisha Pathirana. In such a situation, either a finisher will be needed with dewald bravis or a batsman on the top order.

At the same time, Sanjay Bangar, while discussing the future of MS Dhoni, said that it is very difficult to play in such a competitive environment at the age of 43 years. Bangar said, “If I had been in place of Dhoni, I would say that it has been enough now. I took all that I wanted to play. Taking care of the interests of the franchise, but now it’s time to move forward.” Bangar also said that the transition will not be intensified with the presence of Dhoni. According to him, even without Dhoni, the franchise can strengthen itself in a year or two.

Bangar also questioned CSK’s batting strategy. He said that if there are aggressive batsmen in the top order and there are players like Dewald Bravis and Shivam Dubey below, then do players like Jadeja need to handle the innings? Bangar suggested that CSK will have to make major changes in his strategy before the next season.

The next season for CSK may be a new beginning. Experts believe that the team should focus on young and aggressive players. An explosive batsman in the top order and a finisher in the middle order is needed. Also, while maintaining players like Noor Ahmed and Pathirana in bowling, you will have to emphasize on the change in batting. The decision on Dhoni’s future will also be important, because his captaincy and experience have always strengthened CSK, but now the time has come that the franchisees move towards the future.
