There has been a big bomb in Waziristan, Pakistan on Monday. In this bomb blast, at least seven people were killed and 21 others were injured due to bombings. South Waziristan is located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan. Local police officer Usman Khan told AFP that the local tribal elderly Saifur Rahman was living in his guest house, when the bomb exploded, in which at least seven people were killed and 21 others were injured.
So far, no group has taken responsibility for this bomb blast. According to the local official, the office of the Peace Committee was targeted, which publicly opposed the Pakistan Taliban. The committee also helps in resolving disputes among the local people.
Police said that the explosion was so severe that the building of the Peace Committee office was destroyed and many people got caught in the debris. South Waziristan, bordering Afghanistan, has been a stronghold of terrorists for years, where the army has done several operations. These forces are locally known as peace committees.
After several military operations, most of the country have been dissolved after dramatic reforms in security, the final of which was launched in 2014. Pakistan has been struggling with widespread bounce in 2021 since the Afghan Taliban returns to power in Kabul. Islamabad claims that terrorists are now taking shelter in Afghanistan to prepare for attacks.
