Faridabad Police of Haryana has arrested an employee working in a private company in Noida, Uttar Pradesh for demanding an escort vehicle from the police department to become an officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS). Police gave this information. Police said that he was produced in the city court from where he was sent to judicial custody.
It said that on Wednesday night, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Faridabad) informed the SHO of Palla police station that he had received a call, in which the caller has described himself as DCP Surendra Chaudhary of South Delhi.
Police said that the caller said that he has to come to Faridabad and he does not know the way, so he needs a police escort vehicle immediately to reach the right place.
It told that after this the SHO contacted the mobile number given and reached the Delhi border, where after waiting for a while, he met a person who described himself as DCP of South Delhi.
Police said that he was taken in a car and taken towards Faridabad. When the alleged DCP of South Delhi was asked about his destination, he asked the SHO to leave Noida back.
According to the police, after this it was found that the person is a fake IPS officer. According to the police, the accused has been identified as Gaurav Sharma, who lives in Mehrauli, Delhi and works in a private company in Noida.
A police spokesman said, “During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had obtained the phone numbers of DCP South Delhi and DCP Central Faridabad through the Internet.”
