After the Assam Chief Minister’s Office called for action against him for making “unacceptable comments” about Assam in a podcast, he has now apologized for it.
While sharing the photo of Abhishek Kar, CMO wrote on X, “A video of a YouTube channel named Riya Upreti is in circulation, in which a person named Abhishek Kar is seen making unacceptable comments on the history and traditions of Assam. Appropriate action may be initiated against the said person for spreading misinformation.”

Director General of Police GP Singh replied within a few minutes, “Note sir. Legal action will be taken.”
Within hours, Abhishek Kar posted his own video and apology below the CMO’s post and said that he had asked the podcaster to remove that particular clip which had offended people.
He wrote, “I apologize to the people, @CMOfficeAssam, @gpsinghips and every party concerned who have been hurt. The intention was not to hurt anyone and in future, care will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.”

In the video, Abhishek Kar is seen with folded hands saying that he apologizes for the recent podcast, which has hurt people’s sentiments. He said, “I did not do this intentionally, nor did I want to create chaos, but it happened. I am sorry if anyone got hurt.”
