On the complaint of the Indian Youth Congress, a case was registered against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) IT cell chief Amit Malviya and Republic TV’s editor -in -chief Arnab Goswami for allegedly making false information to the audience. Police gave this information.
According to the police, a case has been registered against the two on the complaint of Srikanth Swaroop BN, head of the Legal Unit of the Indian Youth Congress at the High Grounds police station on Tuesday under Section 192 (provoking the riot with the intention of inciting a riot) and 352 (insulting the intention of disturbing peace).
The complaint alleged that Malaviya and Goswami broadcast the wrong information “inspired by criminal intention” and gave the Turki’s Istanbul Congress Center as the office of the Indian National Congress (INC), “gave false information.
Swaroop said, “This act was done with the objective of misleading the Indian people with criminal intention, tarnishing the image of a major political party, playing with nationalist sentiments, spreading public disturbance and weakening national security and democratic values.”
Swaroop said that this act of Malaviya and Goswami has been raised in a unstable background of stressful relations between India and the Turki. Swaroop alleged, “Malaviya and Goswami acts are an attack on India’s democratic foundation, public security and national security.” He broadcast false news with criminal intention against which should be responded to with the harshest action.
Swaroop has requested immediate action on this complaint from the Press Council of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, CBI and other law enforcement agencies.
