2 people were killed and more than 6 people were injured in the firing incident at Florida State University in Talhasi, USA. Talhasi Memorial Healthcare told CNN that the condition of one of the injured is serious due to being shot, while the condition of five others has been stated to be critical.
A suspect has been taken into custody, and the authorities have recovered a handgun from the person. A gun has also been found in the university student union and another gun has been recovered in the suspect’s vehicle.
The university’s emergency information system, FSU Alert issued a warning on X, saying, “An active shooter has been reported in the field of the Student Union. The police is on the spot. Stay away from all doors and windows and stay away from them and be ready to take additional protective measures.
After the incident, the university has announced to cancel all classes, programs and commercial operations. Essential employees have been asked to investigate their observers. All athletic programs to be held in Tallahasi have also been canceled.
Talhasi City Commissioner Jack Porter said that the entire community is currently on high alert. It is being ensured that each school, each area, remains as safe as possible.
