On Tuesday, a couple and their child’s body was found hanging in their house in Haltu under South Kolkata town police station. The deceased have been identified as auto driver Somnath Roy (40) as his wife Sumitra Roy (35) and his two and a half year old son Rudranil Roy. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and took the three bodies in possession and sent it for postmortem. Initial investigation has revealed that the couple committed suicide after hanging the child on the noose.
However, detailed information of the case will be revealed only after the post -mortem report. Investigating officers have received a suicide note from the scene. However, the police have not told anything about this note. According to initial investigation, the couple took this step due to the economic crisis. However, police sources said that the investigating officers are investigating all aspects.
A relative of the deceased said that Roy was having a fight with another relative over a financial matter. For this reason, he must have taken such a big step. The police is also investigating this case.
Let me tell you that recently, the bodies of three members of the same family were recovered in Tangra on the eastern outskirts of Kolkata. The dead included two women and a minor girl. Later it was discovered that he was murdered by his husbands, who were real brothers.
