PM Modi is on a three -day tour of Sri Lanka. On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the country’s highest honor ‘Mitra Vibhushan’ in Sri Lanka. He was given this honor by President Anura Kumar Disanayake. This is the 22nd international honor given by a foreign nation to Prime Minister Modi. PM Modi thanked Sri Lanka for this honor. He described it as an honor of 40 crore Indians. This honor has been given to PM Modi for strengthening bilateral relations of both countries and his efforts to promote spiritual and cultural heritage of both countries.   1. This is not only my honor, but it is the honor of 140 crore Indians. It is an honor for historical relations and deep friendship between the people of India and Sri Lanka.

  3. I am happy to see Sri Lanka again on the path of progress. It is a matter of pride for India that we have discharged our duties as a true neighbor and friend.
  4. India has adopted the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. We also give importance to the priorities of our collaborative countries.
  5. India has converted loans worth more than $ 100 million in grants in the last 6 months. Our bilateral loan reorganization agreement will provide immediate assistance and relief to the people of Sri Lanka.
  6. Today we have decided to reduce the interest rate. This shows that India still stands with the people of Sri Lanka.
  7. It is happy to say that the remains of Lord Buddha found in Aravalli, Gujarat in 1960 are being sent to Sri Lanka to see.
  8. Bharat will also help in the renovation of Thirukonewaram Temple in Tinkomali and the construction of Sita Eliya Temple in Nirolia.
  9. The security of the two countries is connected to each other and depends on each other. I am grateful to President Disanayake for his condolences to India’s interests.
  10. We welcome the important agreement made in defense cooperation. We also agree to work on security cooperation in the Colombo Security Conclave and the Indian Ocean.
