The north-reaching bridge connecting the Costal Road to the Bandra-Worli Sea link has now started. That is, the coastal road, which reduces the traffic problem of Mumbai, has been completely started to the public from today. This road will be open for vehicles from 7 am to 12 pm.
The much awaited Uttaragri bridge in Mumbai has been inaugurated. The bridge is 827 meters long, with 699 meters of the part is built above the sea. It has been designed with a state -of -the -art ‘Bo Arch String Girder’. With the commencement of this bridge, the traffic pressure between North and South Mumbai will be very low. The journey will be faster and smooth now.
Costal Road is considered a milestone in Mumbai’s connectivity. 94% of the work of this road has been completed and it will be completely operational after the opening of Prabhadevi connector in February.
The ambitious Mumbai Costal Road Project is being developed in stages to provide rapid access from South Mumbai to the northern suburbs, which extends from Nariman Point to Dahisar.
About Mumbai Coastal Road Project
Part of the Master Plan of 1967 in Mumbai, the work of the Coastal Road Project started in 2018. However, it was targeted to be completed by 2022. But the project was delayed due to Corona virus and other reasons. So far, Rs 14,000 crore has been spent on it. The first phase of the Mumbai Costal Road is longer than 10.58 km long, which extends from the Princess Street Flyover of Marine Drive to the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
The design of this road is of 4+4 lane and includes many features of modern infrastructure, such as a bridge on the stilt, a high road and tunnels. Interchange has been created at major places like Haji Ali and Worli Seafes to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
