We needed a partnership in that situation. Akshar Patel and Shubman Gill did the same thing. Before entering the Champions Trophy, we want to perform as well as possible. In today’s match, we lost wickets in the initial moments. But later managed to return.

Team India won in the first ODI

Talk about the first ODI match, winning the toss in Nagpur and batting first, the England team managed to score 248 runs losing all their wickets in 47.4 overs. Two batsmen scored a half -century for the team. These were none other than team captain Jose Butler (52) and young all -rounder Jacob Bethle (51). Apart from these two batsmen, Phil Salat also appeared in a good touch while starting the innings. He played a fast -paced innings of 43 runs in just 26 balls.

The target of 249 runs from the opposition team was easily achieved by the Indian team at the loss of six wickets in 38.4 overs. During the match, Shubman Gill played a good innings of 87 runs in 96 balls. Apart from him, Shreyas Iyer (59) and Akshar Patel (52) managed to score half -centuries. Gill was chosen as ‘Player of the Match’ for the best innings.

Rohit Sharma did not bat

Rohit Sharma, who is struggling with the bat in Test cricket, was expected to perform well in ODIs for cricket lovers today. But he could not show anything special while starting the innings. He faced a total of seven balls in the first ODI. Meanwhile, he was able to score only two runs at a strike rate of 28.57.
