IND vs AUS: "The team is looking unstable…" Michael Clarke gave a big statement on Rohit Sharma’s captaincy before the Sydney Test.

Michael Clarke statement on Rohit Sharma: Former Australian captain Michael Clarke said that Indian captain Rohit Sharma has earned the right to retire from cricket on his own terms. Rohit is not able to perform well with the bat in Australia due to which the pressure is gradually increasing on him. He has played three Test matches so far in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and has not played any important innings in it. Another veteran player of the team, Virat Kohli is also facing criticism for continuously getting out on balls outside the off stump in the series.

Clarke told ‘ESPN’ ahead of the fifth Test starting on Friday, “You must have seen that it happens with many players, for some captaincy is helpful, while for others it is not. I certainly think. I don’t think they will drop him from the team and when you are the captain, you get a little more freedom.

He said, “Although his figures are not very good, but he will allow Rohit to move forward on his own terms. I don’t know whether Sydney will be his last Test or not. I don’t know what he is thinking or what he is thinking about in Test cricket. What plan does India have in this regard?”
Clarke said, “I don’t know how Rohit feels in terms of captaincy. He has just become the father of a second child. I think he will definitely play in Sydney.”

Rohit’s average as captain is 30.58 but before that he had scored runs at an average of 46.87. Another former Australian captain Aaron Finch also presented his side. He said, “The worrying thing for me is how well they played under Bumrah’s captaincy in the first Test in Perth. Their team has looked shaky since Rohit’s return. But he is still a great player, he It’s great to watch and I hope he scores some runs.”

At the same time, Clarke also feels that after scoring a century at number eight in MCG, Nitish Kumar Reddy should bat in the upper order. He said in ‘Beyond 23 Cricket Podcast’, “This young Reddy, who bats at number eight, is a talented player. I think he should bat at number seven, if not six. He is the highest run-scorer for India. He’s a 21-year-old player, he’s been underrated throughout the series.”
