Singapore and India on Tuesday signed a letter (LOI) for the Green Digital Shipping Corridor (GDSC), which focuses on digitization and carbon -free projects. The Singapore-India GDSC will increase cooperation between the two countries and will help in adopting zero or almost zero or almost zero or almost zero GHG emission technologies, to speed up the development, use and digital solutions, according to a joint release issued by Singapore’s Marine and Port Authority and Port, Ministry of Shipping.

Port, Ship Transport and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that his visit to Singapore with a high -level delegation of the maritime region would strengthen long -term relations. He said that “comprehensive strategic partnership” would make cooperation between the two countries deep and broaden. Sonowal is on a three -day visit to Singapore. He is participating in maritime week, which is expected to involve 20,000 representatives and exhibitors from around the world.
Under the letter letter, both sides will collaborate on maritime digitization and carbon -free projects. This includes identifying the relevant stakeholders who can contribute to this effort. At the same time, through a memorandum of MoU on Singapore-India GDSC, we will work towards formalizing the partnership.
Signing of letter
On the letter, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Water and Waterways R.K. Laxmanan and Singapore Marine and Port Authority’s Chief Executive Teo Ing Dinh signed. Minister of State for Environment and Environment of Singapore, Amy Khor and port, ship transport and waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal were present here at the time of signing of the letter.
