Moscow:
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said on Thursday that India-Russia relations are constantly getting expanded and deeper in the backdrop of the dynamic world system. He said this at the ‘Russia and India: A new bilateral agenda’ conference in Moscow. Jaishankar said that further increasing the special strategic partnership between India and Russia remains the priority of both countries. The program organized by the Council of Russian International Affairs in collaboration with the Indian Embassy was addressed by the External Affairs Minister.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said, “India and Russia have exhibited extraordinary ability to adopt and find new opportunities for mutual gains.” The Foreign Minister mentioned that the Indo-Russian bilateral relations would be even more intensive with dynamic partnership and strong relations between the people.
Jaishankar said that more cooperation between the two countries is necessary in the era of multi -polarity. He said, “I want to reiterate that India gives great importance to its relations with Russia. We are committed to enhance this deep friendship and find new dimensions of cooperation.” The program was also addressed by Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov. He said that preparations are being made for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India.
Lavarov said, “The history of relations between our countries is very old. It can be said that they have lived more than once on the test of time.” The Russian Foreign Minister said, “It is symbolic that Prime Minister Narendra Modi comes to Russia on his first bilateral foreign trip after being re -elected last year. Now it is our turn. Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted the invitation of the head of the Indian government. Preparations are being made for the Russian head of India.”
Lavarov said that the political talks between India and Russia are ‘developing dynamically’, in which the fact is that Moscow and New Delhi ‘have similar views on the emerging multi-polar world system.
