The President of Indonesia postponed his visit to Pakistan and President Prabowo Subianto will be the chief guest on Republic Day. The liberation of Maldives from the clutches of China is also a diplomatic success for India.
This time, Indonesian President Probobo Suvianto is coming to India as the chief guest at the Republic Day Parade. There have been historical relations between Indonesia and India. The relations between the two countries are good both culturally and economically. This is the reason that for the fourth time since 1950, the President of Indonesia has been invited as the chief guest at the Republic Day Parade.
Meanwhile, India got a major diplomatic success when Indonesian President Prabobo Suvianto postponed his plan to visit Pakistan after India. It is believed that this was done over India’s objection because India does not want its chief guest of Republic Day to go directly to Pakistan after India because Pakistan is not desisting from its policy of terrorism against India.
India is growing stronger on the principle of de-hyphenation. Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Postponement of President Probobo’s visit is a blow to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, news also came that China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi suddenly visited Maldives and met President Muizzu. In fact, the sudden visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister to China is interesting because India and Maldives have started on the old path of friendship. This is troubling China because it tried to completely take Maldives under its influence. But President Muizzu understood that China was playing tricks and India was the real helper of Maldives.
Maldives has escaped from the clutches of China, which is a diplomatic success for India. Maldives was growing closer to China after Muizzu’s victory. India continued to move ahead with its policy with restraint. Seeing the strengthening of relations between Maldives and India again, China’s anxious Foreign Minister Wang Yi reached Maldives. He assured the pace of Chinese projects in Maldives.
Maldives will be helped by a $400 million currency swap agreement with India. India has provided support to Maldives’ falling foreign exchange reserves.
