India vigilant: High alert on rising Kovid matters, worrying figures from Maharashtra and Rajasthan

Once again, there is an increase in the cases of Kovid-19 in the country, in view of which the central government has increased vigilance. A high -level meeting was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of the Union Health Secretary, in which senior officials of ICMR, DGHS, NCDC and DHR participated.

It was reviewed in the meeting that new cases of Kovid have been reported from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Karnataka, although most of them are patients with mild symptoms which are recovering in home isolation. Experts assured that the situation is still under control, but the government is ready to deal with any possible threat.

Ministry of Health held a big meeting

The Ministry of Health made it clear that a strong mechanism under IDSP and ICMR is already active in the country for monitoring Kovid and other respiratory diseases. Through this, any new variant or serious trends are being monitored across the country. The meeting also reviewed the recent cases in countries like Singapore and Hong Kong. The ministry said that the signs so far showed that the variants currently spreading are not more contagious or fatal.

Cases have increased in Maharashtra

The latest figures from Maharashtra are worrying. On Saturday, 47 new cases were reported in the state and 4 patients died, of which all were suffering from comorbidity. Maximum 30 cases were received in Mumbai, 7 in Pune, 6 in Thane, 3 in Navi Mumbai and 1 in Nagpur. The total number of active patients in the state has increased to 166. So far, 257 cases and 87 recovery have been registered in the state since January.

The dead include a 21 -year -old man from Thane, a 70 -year -old Hridayogi, a 14 -year -old girl from Mumbai and a 59 -year -old cancer victim. There have also been 6 new cases in Rajasthan in two days, in which 3 children were also found infected in Jodhpur AIIMS. 2 new cases were also found in SMS Hospital in Jaipur. Genome sequencing of all samples is being done so that it can be clear whether it is the effect of JN.1 of Omikron. The government has instructed all states to stay on alert and to intensify the monitoring. The Center has reiterated that the situation is being closely monitored and no laxity will be taken.
