Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Friday that Indian music and traditional instruments teach harmony, harmony and discipline and take man on the path of good deeds by freeing him from useless attractions. Bhagwat participated in the ‘Swar Shatakam Malwa’ program organized by the Sangh in Indore. In this program, 870 volunteers of the Sangh played traditional musical instruments collectively.
The Sangh chief said in the program that Indian music and traditional instruments teach walking together, harmony and discipline. Bhagwat said, “World’s music excites the mind’s activities and gives joy, whereas Indian music creates happiness by calming the mind’s activities.” By listening to Indian music, a person becomes free from all the attractions here and there and develops a tendency to do good deeds that give pleasure.
He said that the volunteers of the Sangh, inspired by patriotism, composed Indian-style tunes and war music with different musical instruments and the feeling behind this was that the art that everyone in the world has, should be used in the country. There should be no shortage.
Bhagwat said, ‘Our India is not a backward or poor country. We can also sit in the front row of the group from all the countries of the world and tell that we have different arts.
He also said that the volunteers of the Sangh do not learn different arts in the branches of this organization to show them to the people. Giving an example, the Sangh chief said that stick-wielding is also taught in the Sangh’s branches, but the purpose behind this education is not to display this art in front of other people or to fight.
He said, “A person who wields a lathi develops a heroic instinct (feeling of bravery) and is not afraid.” Bhagwat said that training in lathi-wielding teaches one to remain firm in crisis and has patience and strength on the path of resolution. Inspires to move along without stopping.
The Sangh is going to complete 100 years of its establishment this year. The Sangh chief appealed to the common people to join the campaign of re-building the nation along with the volunteers of this organization.
