New Delhi:
Question: Role Meena, congratulations for Chidiya Ud! How did you prepare for your character in this series?
answer: Thank you! Preparing for Sehar’s character was a very humble experience. This gave me a chance to know a new world of sex workers and I regretted whatever I felt before this work. This is something that I like in acting, it is almost spiritual how we actor adopts another person.
I did a documentary and factual research on this subject, so that I understood where Sehar comes from and what his motivations are. I prepared his entire life story, in this process the discussions made with our director Ravi sir proved to be very helpful.
I talked to some people from my Rajasthan village, so that I could understand the contemporary status and social place of sex workers. This made me believe that he is not a fictional character, but a real person! I am sure I was not alone who was unaware of the existence of such a person earlier.
Apart from this, I think my own journey also played an important role in joining Sehr. A large part of my childhood was spent in the village of Rajasthan with my maternal grandparents, which helped me understand his ethnicity and language nature. I connect myself deeply with his warrior spirit. When I came to Mumbai, I decided to act after completing ABBS studies, then I also faced conflicts and troubles. I opted to get up, because my goals were clear. Both of us are warrior souls, who are children from the heart!
Question: You have played the role of a sex worker in the series. What challenges did you face while playing this role?
answer: As I said, the biggest challenge was to overcome our own judges. I found a documentary, in which a five -year -old girl was being encouraged to dance and “Adaen”, so that she could grow up and become a sex worker, who was the way to go to independence in her community, marriage instead. This changed the attitude of understanding my world of Sehar.
See, make this work inspiring for Sehr because this is the first step towards his freedom. In this way, she is like any woman, who is trying to be free from bondage in some form or the other.
Physical and mentally, this role was very demanding. It was mentally tired, but when Ravi sir said “Got It”, applause echoed on the entire set. Sir personally came and appreciated me by saying that he feels proud of me. That moment made all the hard work worthwhile.
Shooting in Kamathipura was also an unforgettable experience. Live locations attracted huge crowds, so we had to shoot with security. I remember some locals were commenting on that our shooting is impressing their business! The interesting thing is that many people used to sit and interact with me, which was a changing and prosperous experience of my thinking.
Question: You worked with actors like Jackie Shroff and Sikander Kher. Has Jackie Shroff scolded you on the set?
answer: Me? Never Jackie sir was always full of warmth and enthusiasm towards me. Why they are called “Apna Bidu”, it makes sense, because he makes you feel part of his family, even if you are meeting them for the first time. But I remember an incident. We were shooting for a high -energy action sequence, and the set was quite disorganized. Suddenly, Jackie sir killed his signature Bombay style loudly and peace in the entire set! He was not scolding anyone in particular, but his voice had so much power that the whole team became calm.
As far as Alexander sir is concerned, he never shouted in anger, but once I had bitten his ear during a scene, he had come a little angry. Yes, you heard right! But you have to see the bird flying, then you will understand the reason for this!
Question: When did you offer Chidiya flying and why is this series special for you?
young: This project was offered me three times, and the third time I got it! My first audition did not go anywhere, but I considered it a sign of my growth. By the time it came to me for the third time, I had developed a lot of acting workshops, yoga, and life experiences, and the makers felt it.
And for those who believe that you need a lot of followers on social media for a lead role, I want to tell you that when I got the role of Sehar, I had only 3 thousand followers! This further strengthened my belief that when you give your best, what is for you automatically comes to you.
This series is special for me, because it gave me a small indication that I am on the right path, that the bets I put on myself seven years ago were right. A lesson that learned – “internal emotion is a super power”. Now my inner fire is even more ignited!
Question: Did you make any special preparation while auditioning for bird flying?
answer: I think Jeevan prepared me for this and when this opportunity came, I adopted it completely because I always trained myself in acting. The journey of my life has been very diverse. A large part of my childhood was spent with my maternal grandparents in the village of Rajasthan, then I studied at the country’s top boarding school, MGD Girls School, I am trained in Kathak, representing India after winning the Holix Wiskids competition in London Do and I met various types of people in MBBS. This helped me to be enriched as a person and eventually an actor.
I have love for art and hunger to develop myself, inspired me towards teachers and spiritual trips teaching me tricks of acting across the country.
I remember when I was in the last year of college and was thinking about making a career in acting, then I realized that “whatever you do in life, you will eventually fail, success can be achieved only when you can get success only when you Keep walking despite failures, and this is only possible when you like what you are doing “. This gave me the courage to understand the real meaning of success and follow my heart.
As an actor, you are rejected every day, but if you love art, you train your instrument every day, and as a result you attract the right people and the right opportunities. So I feel that audition for Chidiya flying was my preparation and opportunity. This is another proof of learning and growing throughout life.
