IPL 2025: ‘All this has no meaning’, Arshdeep’s trollers and mimes answers to artists

Arshdeep Singh on trollers: Punjab Kings (PBKS) left -arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh said that after spending his first year in the franchise, he had a strong desire to be given an important responsibility. This helped him develop into a player and a human being. Arshadeep joined PBKS before the 2019 IPL and has been an integral part of the team since then. He has so far taken 84 wickets in 71 matches at an average of 26.82 and an economy rate of 9. In a video posted by the franchise on YouTube on Thursday, Arshdeep said, ‘Ever since I came to Punjab Kings, I started feeling seniority in my role except for the first year. I have been associated with this team for the last seven years and after spending my first year with the team, I started feeling that I have been given a big responsibility in the team. It also helped me develop as a player and a person.

Arshadeep’s successful IPL season came in 2021, when he took 18 wickets in 12 matches. He took 10 wickets in 2022, including maintaining his patience in the super over against Mumbai Indians. This inspired him to join India’s T20 team, where Arshdeep was a member of the team who won the 2024 Male T20 World Cup and also won the ICC Men T20 Cricketer of the Year.

Arshdeep further explained how the spirit of this seniority shaped his attitude towards the game. Especially in high pressure conditions. Lafti Pesar said, ‘My role and development had come long ago. So I knew that I could not mess in important stages because at that time the team could not be in serious crisis due to not working according to the plan. Therefore, I became serious and started feeling like a senior very soon.

Talking about his approach to facing online trolls, he said, ‘My career has ups and downs. I have seen the highest point as well as the lowest point in a very short time, but I feel very entertained with these trolls. Arshdeep said, ‘I laugh at his creativity and memes. Earlier, I used to save these memes and messages so that I could use them later, but now I think they have no meaning. However, I still love to see the creativity of the people.
