Jasprit bumrah set to miss ipl 2025 initial matches: Before the start of IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians seem to have a big shock. According to the reports, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will be out of the opening matches of IPL. Let me tell you, Bumrah has been away from action since the fifth match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia in January. Bumrah is recovering from stress -related injuries in his lower back.
According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, Bumrah, who undergoes back surgery in 2023, is going through his rehab process at BCCI Center of Excellence (COE) in Bangalore. According to the report, Bumrah is expected to join the team in early April. Mumbai will play three matches in March earlier. In such a situation, Bumrah can stay out of these matches. When Bumrah will join the team in April, it depends on the approval from the medical team at the BCCI’s Excellence Center in Bangalore.
Bumrah was hurt on the second day of the Sydney Test. After this, the Bumrah was dropped from the Champions Trophy. While announcing the team for the Champions Trophy in January, India’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar had said that Bumrah was asked by the BCCI’s medical team to be offloaded for at least five weeks (from SCG test).
Since the Champions Trophy began on February 19, Bumrah was included in the temporary team of India. He traveled to Bengaluru for a new scan in early February, but continued to feel discomfort and was not included in the final team.
It is not yet confirmed that how many matches Bumrah will miss and whether there will be a fixed date for return. Mumbai’s first two IPL 2025 matches are Ave (outside the house). Mumbai will launch its campaign against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai on 23 March, followed by the franchise on 29 March with Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad.
Mumbai Indians’ first domestic match will be against Kolkata Knight Riders on 31 March. He will then play two matches in the first week of April: against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow on 4 April and then against Royal Challengers Bangalore at home on 7 April.
