IPL 2025: New schedule of IPL continues, due to this, tension of all teams increased

IPL 2025 revised schedule announced: The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) on Monday decided to resume the current session of the Indian Premier League (IPL) from May 17 at six places in which the final will be held on June 3 as per the revised program. On May 8, the IPL was stopped after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was stopped when Pakistan tried to infiltrate the Indian airspace near Chandigarh, which led to a blackout in the stadium.

The board said in a statement, “The BCCI is happy to declare the Tata IPL 2025 resumed. After extensive consultations with the government and security agencies and all the major stakeholders, the board has decided to move forward with the remaining session.”

The first match will be between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru on 17 May when the league resumed. According to the revised program, there will be six places for the league matches, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Places for playoff matches will be announced later. A total of 17 matches will be played at six places and the revised program includes two ‘double-headers’ which will be played on two Sundays.

After this announcement of the BCCI, the tension of all the franchise has increased as there is a scope for foreign players to leave the league at the crucial time. Actually, the final of the league is to be played on 3 June. Whereas the final of the World Test Championship is to be played between 11 and 15 June between South Africa and Australia at Lord’s ground. In such a situation, it is expected that South Africa and Australian players can withdraw from the league due to their national duties during the knockout phase.

Meanwhile, there is to be an ODI series between West Indies and England. A three -match ODI series between West Indies and England is to start from May 29. The West Indies have announced the team for this series and the cricketer playing in the IPL is not a part of the team for this series. But England has not announced the team for the series yet. It may be possible that some players of England’s white ball also leave the league.

The bigger problem is that before India’s tour of England, India A has to play two matches against England Lions, while one match is to play against the senior India team. In such a situation, due to the final on June 3, many players, who will be part of the India A team, may have to leave the IPL. Let me tell you, the first match against England Lions is to be played between 30 May to 2 June and the second match between 6 to 9 June.

Indian players will go directly to England tour after IPL. Team India has to play five Tests on this tour. The first match of the series starts from June 20. In such a situation, Indian players will have very little time after IPL.
